Film Transcript / Subtitles
Until it strikes someone close to you, it's difficult to understand just how serious and destructive diabetes can be.
I found out when my son David became diabetic.
From that time on, I watched a wonderful, exuberant teenager struggle each day with the limitations, the uncertainties, and the fears of this life-threatening disease.
And I hurt for him, and for what I knew he would probably face in the years ahead, because right now we can only control diabetes.
We can't stop the debilitating complications, complications that increase the risk of blindness, of heart attack, of stroke, and kidney disease.
Only a cure can do that.
