Film Transcript / Subtitles

Swimming is considered one of the most healthful and beneficial forms of exercise. To ensure maximum safety when swimming, follow these simple rules. Don't swim alone, don't jump or dive into unknown waters, swim only within your limitations, and don't swim right after eating or when you are tired, overheated, or chilled. If you develop a leg cramp when you're in deep water, draw your knees up toward your chest and massage or move your cramped leg while in a face-forward float position. If your eyes or ears are sensitive to water, use protective devices. Above all, don't engage in unnecessary horseplay that could result in injury to yourself or another swimmer. This message has been brought to you as a public service by the National Association of Blue Sheets.
