During my first year and a half at college, it didn't bother me much that I couldn't take ROTC. I was too busy having fun. And working hard, too. But it began to dawn on me that I was still faced with some kind of military service. And now ROTC seemed to make good sense. Just when I thought it was too late, the Army came up with a new two-year ROTC program. Now I'm set. I'll get my officer's commission on graduation day. ROTC only takes a few hours each week. I'll make much better use of my education and be happier serving as an Army officer with the rights and privileges of an officer.
